Getting your manufacturing up to code on The STURDY Act

For furniture sold in the USA, voluntary safety standards have always been in place - they existed in form of practices and specifications in manufacturing so the end product will withstand any form of usage without causing accidents or injuries. Starting 1st September 2023, these standards will become mandatory for all furniture sold in the USA under a law now called “The STURDY Act”.

The STURDY Act will impact manufacturers in the following ways:

  • Increased shipping and materials cost
  • Increased shipping damage
  • Revising the existing product
  • Delayed production deadlines

We have put together a webinar with Sean Slack, a renowned industry veteran with over 3 decades of leadership experience in the US home furnishings industry.  Sean was closely involved in the study and implementation of the F2057-23 Standard Safety Specification for Clothing Storage Units.

In this free, exclusive webinar, Sean covered:

  • determining if your products fall under the act's coverage, and how to get compliant
  • cost effective compliance methods
  • how this act will impact design, management, production and procurement teams
